Conception : Clarification - Explicitation
- Les termes « équité » et « égalité » sont parfois utilisés de façon interchangeable, ce qui peut entraîner une certaine confusion. Ces concepts sont liés mais comportent d’importantes distinctions.
- L’équité, repose sur la volonté de comprendre les gens et de leur donner ce dont ils ont besoin pour s’épanouir et vivre des vies saines.
- L’égalité repose sur la volonté d’offrir la même chose à tous les gens pour qu’ils puissent s’épanouir et vivre des vies saines.
- Tout comme l’équité, l’égalité vise à promouvoir la justice, mais l’égalité ne peut être atteinte que si tous les gens partent du même point de départ et ont les mêmes besoins.
- Une bonne compréhension des différents éléments qui distinguent l’équité de l’égalité permet de reconnaître les différences entre les gens sur les plans de la santé et du bien-être, celles qui sont injustes, évitables et que l’on peut transformer, puis de réagir en conséquence.
